牙齒整齊,個人自信倍增

牙齒直接影響個人的儀容 , 一副整齊潔白的牙齒 , 自然令個人的外表更加出眾。
在中國的面相學裏,也有提到牙齒型態影響個人命運。潔白整齊的牙齒往往是健康、長壽、財富和言而有信的象徵。在古籍裏孔子曾提及「三德」俱備者為完美之人 , 而完美之人的外貌特徵 , 其中一項是「齒如編貝」。這或許是最早見於中國典籍 , 有關牙齒與命相的智慧之談,亦成為日後命理學的金石良言。


金屬矯齒容易造成口腔磨損

根據統計 , 在香港每三個人之中 , 便有一個是天生牙齒不整齊的 , 這是因為東方人 , 包括中國人的顎骨和牙弓均偏細小。較常見的牙齒問題包括牙齒擁擠、疏鬆、哨牙、倒及牙和暴牙。不整齊的牙齒 , 不但影響我們日常在說話和微笑時的儀容 , 也令平日清潔牙齒時困難 , 藏積牙垢 , 而容易造成蛀牙、牙周病等牙患。
很多人也知道接受牙齒矯正能重造一副整齊的牙齒 , 但一般的金屬矯齒器治療法,使很多人敬而遠之 , 這是因為:
1. 金屬矯齒形狀突出 , 影響個人儀容 , 亦因而使很多人誤以為「箍牙」只是為兒童而設的 , 成年人難以採用。
2. 金屬矯齒器容易造成口腔磨損 , 引起口腔不適 , 也令很多人不願意使用。
3. 採用金屬矯齒器影響正常飲食 , 矯齒期間 , 不能進食黏性食物如香口膠、糯米以及高纖維的蔬菜 (因為蔬菜纖維會與金屬線糾纏一起)。
4. 固定的金屬矯齒器令清潔牙齒困難 , 矯齒期間 , 較難保持口腔清潔衛生。
目前有一種隱形矯齒的新法 , 為傳統使用金屬矯齒器矯齒提供另類選擇。隱適美 ( invisalign ) 採用一系列透明和可供脫下的隱形牙箍 , 漸進地把牙齒矯正 , 而無需採用任何金屬和鋼線。隱形牙箍是由透明和堅硬的醫學用塑料製成 , 配戴上牙齒後 , 幾乎是看不到的。

隱適美如何矯正牙齒?

1. 牙醫首先套取病人牙齒的印記和 x-光片 , 把二者送交美國 Align Technology 的化驗室。
2. 在 Align Technology 的化驗室 , 工作人員會塑造一個病人牙齒的模型 , 並將它數碼化。Align Technology 公司採用其專利的電腦軟件 , 製作一系列牙齒立體移動的影象 , 由牙齒原本的位置開始 , 逐漸移動到最整齊的位置。
3. 牙齒會觀看這一系列立體影象後 , 認為符合該病人的需要 , 予以同意便由 Align Technology 生產一系列由透明和堅硬的科學用塑料製造的「隱形牙箍」。
4. 療程通常每兩個星期為一個階段 , 病人在每個階段更換系列中不同的「隱形牙箍」(隱形牙箍通常是一對 , 上、下顎分別配戴一個)漸漸地,病人的牙齒便逐毫米、逐毫米移動 , 直到牙齒整齊為止。整個療程與傳統金屬矯齒器療法相若 , 大概需時六至二十四個月 , 視乎個案本身的複雜程度而定。

隱形牙箍矯齒四大優點
1. 幾乎看不到。可以不讓任何人知道該人正在進行牙齒矯正。
2. 更加舒適。沒有金屬矯齒器和金屬線所引起的口腔磨損和不適。
3. 可供脫下。在矯齒期間 , 可以把隱形牙箍脫下 , 如常進食 , 並在進食完畢之後 , 使用牙線和牙刷清理牙齒 , 保口腔清潔衛生。
4. 更加方便。因為是採用一系列預製的「隱形牙箍」進行矯齒 , 來替代傳統的金屬矯齒器和金屬線,減少病人造訪牙醫作出調校的次數。

There is a dedicated sterilization and instrument preparation area, central store area, darkroom and a laboratory. As part of our commitment to continuing education our dentists spend time keeping up to date with best practices through international journals and other literature.

Our comfortable reception & waiting area has a broad range of the latest magazines and a selection of informative resources relating to dental health.

STERILISATION & CLEANLINESS
Many patients are worried that they might expose themselves to infections when they entrust themselves to the care of a dentist. We understand the trust that you place in us and at Tactile Oral & Medical Centre we are committed to ensuring your safety in every way. This extends to hospital standard sterilization using an autoclave (steam pressure sterilization), once-only use of equipment where appropriate and the highest level of staff training.

The sterilization and instrument preparation room houses the latest sterilization & hygiene related technology. This area is used for the efficient processing of all our instruments.

All equipment that is used in your mouth is completely sterilized.
These are some of the precautions we take to protect you (and us!) from the risk of cross infection:

Autoclave steam sterilization
All instruments capable of withstanding high temperatures are sterilized under high pressure in an autoclave. ALL bacteria and viruses are killed. We have the latest generation of autoclave that operates under a vacuum to ensure that even hollow tubes for example, inside of a dental drill, are totally sterile.

Ultrasonic cleaning
Prior to instruments being autoclaved they are hand scrubbed before being placed in an ultrasonic bath with a disinfectant cleaning solution. This removes any surface debris and begins sterilization process.

Chemical disinfection
All items that cannot tolerate high heat, for example plastics, are disinfected in a chemical solution formulated to kill infectious bacteria and viruses.

"Pouching" of sterile instruments
Most of our instruments are "autoclave pouched" to maintain sterility until the moment they are required.

One-time use items
Many items are single-use and are disposed of after each patient. This includes all syringes (needles) and saliva ejectors (the plastic tips on the suction tube which are placed in the mouth to remove saliva).

Disposable gloves and masks
Gloves and masks are worn to prevent transmission of disease between you and us (both ways), as well as providing protection from transmitting any diseases between you and another patient in the practice. Gloves are never used on more than one patient.

Surface decontamination and barriers
All surfaces (counter tops, dental chair, light handles, etc.) are disinfected with a chemical solution again formulated to kill infectious bacteria, spores, and viruses.

Protective glasses
We wear glasses to protect our eyes from contamination as well as injury. You the patient wear them to eliminate the possibility of any foreign body injuring the eyes.
